Our vision
For mobilezone, practising sustainability means embodying responsibility across all facets of our organisation. This includes fostering a safe and attractive workplace for our employees and providing our customers with thorough and expert guidance throughout the entire lifecycle of a device, from purchase and repairs to refurbishment and disposal. We build on long-term customer relationships and, where possible, offer sustainable or environmentally neutral alternatives. In the upstream value chain (e.g. suppliers and manufacturers) and in the downstream value chain (e.g. customers and users), we minimise negative impacts and maximise or optimise positive impacts. In doing so, we strive to minimise our ecological footprint and foster long-term success while adhering to relevant laws and guidelines at all times.
Sustainability stategy of the mobilezone Group
The topic of sustainability forms part of mobilezone's corporate strategy, from which its sustainability strategy is derived. It applies to all companies of the mobilezone Group in Switzerland and Germany. mobilezone focuses its sustainability strategy on the core subjects "governance & compliance", "employees", "customers", "smartphone cycle" and "environmental management". The sustainability strategy of mobilezone is aligned with its core business.
Sustainability management
The topic of sustainability is part of the mobilezone Group's corporate strategy. Sustainability management defines organisational and functional framework conditions for implementing the sustainability strategy. It includes the points of organisation and responsibilities, communication as well as monitoring and reporting.
Organisation & responsibility
The Sustainability Committee acts as the highest decision-making committee and approves the sustainability strategy. This meets twice a year on the topic of sustainability with the aim of advancing the sustainability strategy. The CEO of the mobilezone Group acts as the most senior party responsible for the sustainability strategy. Together with the Group Management, he forwards sustainability issues to the Board of Directors. In order to advance the topic of sustainability operationally within the company, a five-member Sustainability Body consisting of employees and managers from the German and Swiss organisations was established, which has the following areas of responsibility: Operational development of the sustainability strategy, development of a roadmap, collection of sustainability topics in the organisation and definition of the importance of the topics, development of a communication strategy for the topic sustainability, monitoring and reporting to the Group Management as well as beeing the contact point for employees.
There is a regular exchange between the Group Management and the Sustainability Body, as well as the Sustainability Committee and the representatives from both countries.
Sustainability monitoring and transparent communication
The sustainability monitoring is organized centrally, and the corresponding key figures are surveyed and evaluated quarterly. The monitoring occurs as part of the internal sustainability management system in which all business segments and companies of mobilezone are integrated. The monitoring involves constant checking in which areas further measures have to be implemented to achieve the targets successfully. This is evaluated as part of regular exchanges in the sustainability team. Internal and external communication occurs regarding the measures and progress in the four central subjects. In addition, bilateral discussions are held with analysts and other interested parties on request.
Code of Conduct
In our Code of Conduct, we have set out the values according to which we want to act as a company and which are also binding for our employees. At the end of 2023, we also introduced a code of conduct for suppliers and partners with the aim of preventing violations in our supply chain.
